EFFORT – In his continuing efforts to improve the health and welfare of Monroe County residents, Rep. Jack Rader (R-Monroe), along with Lehigh Valley Health Network, will host a Fall Wellness Festival on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Northampton Community College’s Monroe Campus, 2411 Route 715 in Tannersville.

“The festival is open to residents of every age and is designed to provide them with greater access to health and wellness-related services in our area,” said Rader. “We are pleased to have more than 65 vendors on hand to provide information about the proactive steps all of us can take to improve our health.”

Free flu shots will be provided for all ages until supplies run out, along with free health screenings for a variety of medical conditions. Light refreshments will be served as well.

The East Stroudsburg University Tick Research Lab will have information on Lyme disease prevention and provide free tick testing.

Free eye screenings will be available, courtesy of the Pocono Lions Club.

A prescription take-back collection box will be onsite, courtesy of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, for residents to safely dispose of unused or expired medications.

“I look forward to this event every year because it also gives my staff and me a chance to meet with local residents and explain the state services we provide at my district offices in Effort and Pocono Pines,” Rader added.
