Rader Announces State Grants Totaling $1.9 Million for Community Improvements in 176th Legislative District
HARRISBURG – Rep. Jack Rader (R-Monroe) today announced the awarding of more than $1.9 million in state funding for a variety of community improvement projects and purchases in the 176th Legislative District. Rader played a key role in securing the 14 Local Share Account (LSA) grants.
“These grants are important because they are going toward infrastructure upgrades and public safety enhancements in our local communities, helping to enhance the quality of life for all,” said Rader. “I am always happy to work with officials in the municipalities I represent to advocate on their behalf for this state funding.”
The local grants include:
• Chestnuthill Township – $225,000 for parking lot repaving project at American Legion Post 927.
• Chestnuthill Township – $300,000 for stormwater management system along Woods Crossing in Country Terrace Acres subdivision.
• Hamilton Township – $120,000 for purchase of mower and accessories.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $355,845 for building renovations and repaving projects at Camp Papillon Animal Shelter.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $92,398 for repairs to bridge over Buckwha Creek in Eldred Township.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $47,040 for repaving parking lot at Five Loaf House food pantry in Tobyhanna Township.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $22,012 for replacement of HVAC system at Five Loaf House in Tobyhanna Township.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $33,503 for purchase of rescue tools and equipment by Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $134,820 for repair and repaving of parking lot at Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company fire station.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $250,000 for renovations and improvements at Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center in Hamilton Township.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $86,100 for exterior renovations at Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company’s main station.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $40,950 for exterior renovations at Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company’s Jonas substation.
• Ross Township – $164,975 for culvert replacement project along Mt. Eaton Road.
• Tunkhannock Township – $61,585 for purchase of new portable radios by Tunkhannock Volunteer Fire Company.
The grants were approved and awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which was established as an independent agency that holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth. LSA grants are derived from gaming revenues.
