Rader Announces August Outreach Opportunities

POCONO PINES – Rep. Jack Rader (R-Monroe) today announced his outreach events and satellite hours for August. Please note: Rader’s staff will have a booth at the West End Fair from Sunday, Aug. 20 through Saturday, Aug. 26. District office staff will be limited during that week. A member of Rader’s staff will be available at the following locations throughout the month starting at 10 a.m.:

• Thursday, Aug. 3, at the Polk Township municipal building, located at 165 Polk Township Road, Polk Township.
• Tuesday, Aug. 8, at the Chestnuthill Township municipal building, located at 271 Route 715, Brodheadsville.
• Wednesday, Aug. 9, at the Eldred Township municipal building, located at 490 Kunkletown Road, Kunkletown.
• Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the Pocono Township municipal building, located at 122 Township Drive, Tannersville.

Services available at the outreach hours include assistance with PennDOT, SNAP and Property Tax/Rent Rebate forms; information regarding state agencies and programs; and more.

Rader will offer a Small Games of Chance Seminar on Wednesday, Aug. 9, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 413 in Pocono Lake.

This event is designed to update constituents on the changes to the Local Option Small Games of Chance Act, which improved fundraising abilities for nonprofit associations, charitable organizations and other civic groups through increased limits for prize payouts.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and registration is required due to limited seating. Those planning to attend should RSVP to Rader’s office at (570) 643-7683 or visit RepRader.com.

On Tuesday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. an American Legion service officer will be at Rader’s Pocono Pines district office, located in the Tobyhanna Township building, 105 Government Center Way, Pocono Pines. Veterans can receive assistance with compensation, pension and death benefits, education and health care, and other veterans’ benefits.

Veterans need not be a member of the American Legion to receive services. Call Rader’s Pocono Pines office at 570-643-7683 to make an appointment.

A representative from APPRISE, a free, unbiased health insurance counseling program designed to help older residents and caregivers with answers to questions about Medicare, Medicare supplemental insurance, Medicaid and long-term care insurance, will be at Rader’s Pocono Pines district office on Wednesday, Aug. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 570-643-7683 to make an appointment.
