Pocono Township Receives Grant for Pedestrian Bridge, Rader Says
September 18, 2018
HARRISBURG – Rep. Jack Rader (R-Monroe) today announced that Pocono Township received a $100,000 Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program (GTRP) grant to rehabilitate an aging pedestrian bridge in the TLC Park.
“TLC Park provides numerous recreational options for residents. This funding will ensure our residents will be able to continue to enjoy the park and all it has to offer,” Rader said.
Specifically, the funding will be used to rehabilitate the pedestrian bridge over Pocono Creek. The project includes repairs to the bridge abutments, footings and wing walls; the replacement of the bridge’s concrete deck and safety mesh; and sandblasting and painting steel surfaces.
GTRP grants are through the Marcellus Legacy Fund, which is funded through unconventional gas well impact fees charged to gas drillers in the state.
