Rader Announces Grant Funding for New Wells in Tobyhanna Township

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jack Rader (R-Monroe) today announced that Tobyhanna Township received a $227,000 Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program grant for new water wells.
“This grant funding will surely assist Tobyhanna Township achieve its goal of creating new wells to supply residents with water,” Rader said. “I want to thank the Commonwealth Financing Authority for agreeing that this project is of the utmost importance.”
Specifically, the grant funding will be used for two new wells to develop a community public water supply system to serve the Pocono Summit West area of the township. The project entails drawdown pump testing, construction and installation of permanent well pumps.
Grant funding is through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program, which offers grants for small water and sewer infrastructure projects and can be used to assist with the construction, improvement, expansion, or rehabilitation or repair of a water supply or sanitary sewer system.
