Rader Takes Oath of Office in Harrisburg on New Year’s Day - Representative says job creation, opioid crisis and property taxes are priorities
January 3, 2019
State Rep. Jack Rader (R-Monroe) on New Year’s Day in the
state Capitol in Harrisburg took the oath of office to begin a new, two-year
term. The local lawmaker says he plans
to focus his efforts on enacting policies to promote private-sector job
creation, fighting the Commonwealth’s opioid epidemic and addressing the
burdensome property tax issue. The state
Constitution stipulates the House must convene on the first Tuesday of each
year. The first Tuesday this year fell
on New Year’s Day, so Rader and other legislators were at the Capitol on the
holiday to begin the new legislative session.
Rader was joined by his wife, Susan.
