Rader Announces Community Improvement Grants

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jack Rader (R-Monroe) today announced the awarding of more than $1.1 million in state funding for community improvements in the 176th Legislative District. Rader played a key role in securing the Local Share Account (LSA) grants for the projects.
“All of these projects will be of great benefit to residents and include enhancements to our education system, infrastructure and local history,” said Rader. “I was happy to advocate for approval of the grant applications.”
The local grants include:
• Chestnuthill Township – $50,000 to American Legion Post 927 to replace septic system.
• Chestnuthill Township – $240,000 to construct two new salt storage sheds.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $295,489 to the Monroe County Career and Technical Institute for construction of a building addition.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $53,971 to Orange Pavers for access road repairs at its new manufacturing facility in Jackson Township.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $122,878 to Pocono Pride Softball for construction of a pole building at Field of Dreams Athletic Park in Mount Pocono Borough.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $77,423 to Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network for renovations to its facility in Chestnuthill Township.
• Monroe County Industrial Development Authority – $26,237 to the Eldred Township Historical Society for rehabilitation of the old Kunkletown Post Office into a vistors center and museum.
• Tobyhanna Township – $277,800 for construction of a new roadway entrance to the Stillwater Estates community.
The grants were approved and awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which was established as an independent agency that holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth. LSA grants are derived from gaming revenues.
